The MAXIGRAB story

It all started when I dropped a lump hammer in the canal on a cold windy day and tried to get it back with the big recovery magnet I had bought at the chandlery. It took ages and I realised that traditional recovery magnets weren't really that effective as they often seemed to slide off and you'd lose the object just as it reached the suface which is very frustrating. I just wanted my hammer back so I could get the mooring pin in, tie up the boat and go and have a cup of tea.

I decided to develop an alternative type of recovery magnet which uses NdFeB Rare Earth Magnet for high grip and tenacity. These magnets are the most powerful type you can get with 10 times more magnetic energy than Strontium Ferrite, the material used in most other recovery magnets.

So the MAXIGRAB Hi Adhesion Recovery Magnet was created. A magnet for boaters, fishermen and anyone else who is liable to accidentally drop tools out of reach. As an example of their varied use one of my magnets is carried by a potholer when out exploring.
